JPO Status Report 2024 Released

We are pleased to update you that the Japan Patent Office (JPO) has released the JPO Status Report 2024, a compilation of statistical information and policy outcomes from 2023, which conveys information on the current situation surrounding the intellectual property system as well as the JPO’s initiatives and other matters.
Notable trends in 2023 include the following.
l The number of patent applications recovered to 300,000 for the first time since 2019
l The speed of patent examination remains very fast
