Patent Attorney, IP Litigation Attorney/Founder of ITOH International Patent Office
- He received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Denki Tsushin University (the University of Electro-Communications) in Japan. Before entering private practice, he worked for the Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) as a staff member of the patent section. He passed the patent attorney examination in 1966 and was registered as a patent attorney in 1967. He established ITOH International Patent Office in 1967 and has had his own practice since then. He was a Vice-President of JPAA (1990-1991). His practice encompasses both domestic and foreign applications for patents, utility models, trademarks, and designs; and appeals, litigations, legal opinions, and all other areas of intellectual property. He was awarded the Yellow Ribbon Medal from the Japanese Government for the distinguished services as a patent attorney in 1997. He was a member of Civil Arbitration Committee of Tokyo District Court (1998-2006). He registered the IP Litigation Attorney examination in 2003. He is the senior partner and president of the firm. He is a member of the Japan Patent Attorney Association (JPAA). He is also a member of AIPPI, APAA, INTA, LES, and FICPI, and an overseas member of ITMA. He is also a member of IEEE, the New York Academy of Science, the Institute of Electronics, the Information and Communication Engineers, the Institute of Image Electronics Engineers, and the Institute of Television Engineers of Japan.
He was senior partner and president of our firm from its inception until 2011. He is now chairman of our firm.
